Cosmo Model & Talent Meeting.

On May 11th I went for another meeting with COSMO Model & Talent agency. It was loads of fun, made some new friends, met with my agent, and learned some new info about the industry. I am extremely excited to start working. Only one more class & I'm ready to go. May 30th, will be the last time there before I seriously start working. I have already got my portfolio, now I just need the Handbook and my comp. cards & I'm ready to go! I should be getting them next week! I'm super excited. I'm so ready to be FAMOUS! lol

Until next time,
Love Shannen

  1. I have heard first hand from countless aspiring models about having been lied to and ripped off by Cosmo. They have one of the worst reputations in town as a scam agency. They have had dozens of customers file complaints with the Better Business Bureau.

    1. I just checked online with the BBB and they currently have a grade of B (From A+ to F). They have only had 10 complaints and all of them are closed. There are no written reviews on the BBB site.

This is what's up. My daughter just signed with Cosmo for 2 years for the first time. It was $800. That included her portfolio pictures and 2 years of representation (that averages out to about 30 dollars a month). She was not once promised she would get a job. The jobs are up to prospective clientele in the area, and let's face it, Louisville isn't exactly LA or NY. The market is small and the odds of her getting picked out of 8 pages of kids her age is even smaller. She's beautiful and talented (has been doing community theater for years) but this just isn't a super big market. But she wanted to try it. We weren't promised the world. We weren't told that she would def get a job. We weren't lied to or pressured to do it. She wanted to do it, I allowed myself some time to think about it, and then I agreed that she could with the agreement that if she didn't get a job in 2 years we would not re-sign. Simple as that. I don't get what everyone is so upset about with Cosmo. Just because you have an agent doesn't guarantee you a job. Doesn't even guarantee you a call about a job. And they tell you that from get-go.
